"WARRIOR" PEP BAND

The basketball season is rapidly approaching and I wanted to share some information about how the basketball pep band requirement for every band student will be structured this year. It is very similar to last year but there have been a couple changes. Please pay close attention to the information shared below.
You will notice that there are a total of eight (8) individual games [4 double header events] where there will be a basketball pep band held. The expectation for this year, as was mentioned in class and at back to school night, is that students will attend a minimum of six (6) games which is the same as last year. This equates to at least three (3) pep band games of four (4) games in the "Pep Band Grade #1" section above and at least three (3) pep band games of four (4) games in the "Pep Band Grade #2" section above. Each grouping is highlighted above.
You may not substitute games from one grouping to another grouping. You will get partial credit for the grouping where the minimum number of games isn't met. Extenuating circumstances ONLY will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Each grouping will receive a possible grade of 75 points (25 points per game). Students will not earn points for games not attended. PRE-APPROVED absences (at least two weeks ahead of the first game in a new group) will be considered on a case-by-case basis by Mr. Funk.
In order to receive credit for each game, students must show up at the call time posted on the band calendar and stay until attendance is taken at the end of the event -- this will be done by photograph again this year. Students who miss the call time for any reason (unless pre-approved) will lose partial credit for that event.
This year, we have games that fall on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday nights. For the most part, the pep band events will not conflict with other rehearsal schedules (with the exception of winter guard). Students in a school sponsored activity (sport or club) that may conflict with the above schedule will need to get a copy of their activity schedule to Mr. Funk ASAP so alternate plans can be discussed.
Please remember that this pep band requirement is only for the REGULAR SEASON BASKETBALL GAMES. Pep assemblies and post-season playoff games will not count toward this requirement. If the basketball team(s) make it to the playoffs, the post-season pep bands will be determined, in part, by your attendance through the regular season.
The pep band grades for both groupings will be posted during the second semester grading window.
